Persian paradise: glam swimwear for your dream holiday

James Lightbown

Fashion Bust’s Emma Lightbown goes bargain hunting to show that it is possible to find amazing swimwear for less than £30.

Every winter more and more of us are heading off to sun ourselves in exotic locations as the rest of the UK shivers. But budgets are tight in the winter months, what with the extravagance of Christmas to contend with, and dream holidays don’t come cheap – especially if they include luxury hotels, glorious infinity pools and beautiful beaches (like ours do), and a suitably stunning piece of swimwear. If you need a designer swimsuit but can’t afford designer prices, don’t despair. In our latest swimwear shoot, we prove that you can have that amazing piece of swimwear without denting your holiday fund.

We gave stylist and fashion director Emma Lightbown a budget of £30 or less per item and tasked her with finding swimwear stylish enough to grace a luxury resort, and through a combination of clever high street buys, determined sale shopping and scouring ebay, she managed to find this incredible collection.

And just to prove that her bargain buys will stand up to the most stunning of settings, Fashion Bust’s fave photographer James Lightbown shot these amazing images at the truly fabulous Meydan Beach resort in Dubai, where the most glamorous piece of swimwear wouldn’t look out of place. This exclusive resort in Dubai’s Marina district offers the best of everything for an ultra luxurious getaway, from a private beach and infinity pools complete with poolside bars and dining, to a spa, member’s gym and hair salon. How much would you like to be there right now?
