D plus boobs? Take a look at these gorgeous new styles

There once was a time back in the distant path (a few years ago at least) when the options for women with a cup size over a D/DD cup were a little limited. But a lot has changed since those days, and considering that the average UK bra size is often quoted at anywhere between a 34D and a 36E, it would be a pretty sorry state of affairs if they hadn’t.

The last few years has seen an explosion of brands and retailers catering to the D plus market, and every season it seems the choices get more exciting. Here are our top picks of the latest styles and those just about to hit the shops.

Freya Piper longline bra in cornflower blue

Bra tops and longline bras were everywhere over the summer and it’s a trend that’s set to continue as we head into Autumn. Freya has included longline bras in its range for the last few seasons and if you want to take the plunge with this style, we recommend the Piper longline. The miniature floral print on bright cornflower blue is just adorable.

Piper will be hitting the shops later this month in sizes 28-30 D-G and 32-38 C-G and costs £34. The range also includes a  plunge balcony bra, £30, and matching brief, thong and short. Visit Freyalingerie.com for more details and stockists.

Floris bra by Superbra by Panache

Superbra by Panache is a Fashion Bust favourite for fuller bust fit, and we also love the designs. The Floris balconette bra is a brand new style that launches this month and features a pretty floral print in flattering autumnal shades that is just about perfect. It will be available up to a K cup and comes with a coordinating sheer brief. Keep an eye on the Panache website for stockist and price details.

Curvy Kate Dreamcatcher in petrol

Also due out this month is the new Dreamcatcher balcony bra from curve loving brand Curvy Kate, and it’s the most stunning shade of teal that we’ve seen yet this season. We especially love the cute little scarlet ribbons which set the colour off perfectly. Great for a rounded shape, the bra comes in 28-40 D-K and 42-44 D-G and the matching brief or thong in 8-22. Check curvykate.com for more details and stockists.

Demi Diva half cup bra from Bravissimo

Specialist D-L cup lingerie retailer Bravissimo stocks some great brands as well as offering its own line of underwear, and right now we’re hooked on its Demi Diva half cup bra in cobalt blue – it’s bright and zingy and perfect for cheering up gloomy days. The bra costs £32 and comes in sizes 28-38 DD-HH with a choice of shorts, £16, or brief, £14, both in sizes XS-2XL. Buy it from Bravissimo.com.

Melissa underwired plunge bra from Fantasie Lingerie

Just out from Fantasie Lingerie is sexy new underwired plunge bra Melissa that’s perfect for when you want to feel special. In sophisticated black with irridescent detailing, this is a best-selling shape for the brand with side support that gives a lovely shape and great comfort. It comes in 30-32 D-GG, 34-38 C-GG and 40 D-G and costs £40. Team it with either a brief or thong, £19, or a short, £20. Buy it from Frillyslingerie.co.uk.

Ludmila by Empreinte in Noir

At the more expensive end of the market, French fuller bust brand Empreinte has some exquisite new ranges this season. Our favourite is Ludmila, available in noir or rouge, with its cheeky lace up ribbon detailing and pretty floral embroidery. Empreinte bras fit like a dream and give a wonderful shape, but they’re not cheap. The Ludmila bra costs £105 from Rigby & Peller and comes in sizes 30-38 E-F. The matching briefs cost £52.95 and the shorty is £67.95.
