If you’ve ever been into a little lingerie boutique, you’ll know what a wonderful experience it can be – surrounded by beautiful lingerie, often brands you just won’t find on the high street, and served by knowledgeable staff who take the time to fit you properly and find the bra that suits you best.
Well, it’s time to show your appreciation of the nation’s indie lingerie retailers. Every year, lingerie trade magazine Underlines organises the Stars Best Shop Awards which celebrate the best independent stores in the UK from the little boutiques to the department stores.
Shops are nominated by a panel of industry experts and lingerie brands in a number of categories from ‘Personal Touch’ to ‘Best E-tailer’, and one category, the Excellence & Outstanding Achievement Award, is decided by a public vote.
So, lingerie lovers, please take a moment to review the 2013 nominees and see if your favourite is among them.
This year’s nominees are:
Angela Knight Lingerie in Hungerford
D’Braz in Banstead
Elys Morleys in Wimbledon (lingerie department)
Fenwicks Newcastle (hosiery department)
Jarrolds of Norwich (hosiery department)
Madame Foner in Swansea
Sandra Dee in Cheltenham
Sheen Uncovered in Sheen
Tallulah in Islington, London
The Little Big Bra Shop in Market Harborough
Turnbulls of Carlisle
If you love one of these retailers and want to cast your vote, you can do it via the Stars Best Shop Awards website. The voting is open throughout October and the winner will be announced on 20 November.
Last year’s winner of the Excellence & Outstanding Achievement Award was See Saw in Hale (pictured). If you live nearby and you’ve never gone in, we highly recommend a visit.
