Do you have any bras you no longer wear lurking in your underwear drawer? Well, now you can have a clear out and help raise money for the charity Against Breast Cancer throughout October.
ITV’s Lorraine Kelly has launched the Bin Your Bra campaign during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, encouraging women across the country to donate their unused and unwanted bras. These will be sent to developing countries in Africa to be sold by local traders via BCR Global Textiles. A percentage of the money raised will go back to Against Breast Cancer to support research into breast cancer.
Bras can be returned to participating House of Fraser stores or by posting them directly to Against Breast Cancer – details of both can be found here.
The campaign is being fronted by Michelle Heaton and a number of celebrities have already pledged their support by binning their bras, including Dawn Porter – who has also released a book raising money for breast cancer charities – Sharon Osbourne, Honor Blackman and Barbara Windsor.
Join them and have a clear out of your lingerie drawer today.
