Yes, you heard right, we really did say ‘chocolate bikini’. And no, this isn’t fashion gone mad. It’s all part of the chocolately celebrations of Chocolate Week 2013 (that’s next week, 14-20 October for all you chocolate lovers) which will see the chocolate industry will come together at Salon du Chocolat, the world’s largest chocolate event, and its Chocolate Fashion Show.
New bikini brand Bikini Fling and chocolatiers Fruitful Blooms are behind the chocolate swimwear, which will be showcased at the fashion show at London’s Olympia on Friday 18 October.
Bikini Bloom is one of many chocolate couture designs created for the event by collaborations between fashion designers and top chocolate makers, and features Fruitful Blooms’ signature chocolate leaves and flowers in a jungle design inspired by elements from Bikini Fling’s swimwear collection.
Bikini Fling’s designer Alexia Pinchbeck said she couldn’t resist the chance to work with the chocolatiers to create this playful, decadent piece, which she describes as ‘the most useless thing after a chocolate teapot’.
We totally love the craziness of the idea, and hope the creation stands up to the runway lighting!
If you fancy seeing the chocolate bikini for yourself, or attending chocolate heaven, tickets to Salon du Chocolat cost £18 on the door and £15 in advance. All the creations from the fashion show will be displayed at the event. For more information visit the Salon du Chocolat website.
