There’s a new maternity bra on the market that promises all the support and shape of an underwire, without the underwire.
Maternity lingerie experts Bravado! Designs have developed a new fabric which is designed to be ultra supportive and strong while remaining soft, supple and non-restrictive and won’t put pressure on milk ducts as an underwire can.
Bravado Dyantex is a single-layer fabric which means no bulk, and has four-way stretch so the bra cups mould themsleves to your breasts as they grow and change during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The bra is called Essential Embrace and can be worn by expectant mums from the beginning of the second trimester. The cups are dual sized and the flexible sizing systems means the bra should be able to last you throughout breastfeeding.
The cups are also lined with breathable cotton and the labels have even been printed onto the fabric to avoid itching or discomfort.
The bra has dropdown cups and one-handed nursing clips for breastfeeding. The front is cut low so you won’t see it peeking out of your tops, and the back panels have been designed to smooth bulges and stop straps digging in.
Sound too good to be true? The only way to find out is to put it to the test. The bra comes in back sizes 32-38 and in cup sizes B/C, D/DD, E/F, FF-G, GG-H and various colourways and costs £35. Stockists include Figleaves, John Lewis and The Nursing Bra Shop.
