A new sportswear range designed specifically for women who have had breast surgery has been launched by Amoena.
The collection, which includes a sports bras and tops, T-shirts, cycle shorts, capri and track pants, also uses a material called Comfort+ to aid temperature regulation during exercise. The fabric stores the excess heat generated through exertion and releases it when you cool down, helping to prevent that uncomfortable hot, sticky feeling.
Amoena has developed the sportswear range to be suitable for any woman, but it also provides the security and support required by women who wear breast forms following full or partial mastectomies. The sports bra is pocketed to hold prostheses and is cut higher across the front and under the arms to hold these securely in place. Adjustable straps ensure the right level of support.
The Comfort+ material is also key to comfort for women who have undergone treatment for breast cancer, offering breathable, fast-drying garments that don’t exacerbate any overheating issues that may occur as part of treatment.
The range is designed for a range of activities including gym, yoga, pilates and running. All the sports tops also include integral support and fine mesh pockets for breast forms as well as foam cups for shaping.
Items in the collection include the Claudine sports bra, sized from 32-42 A-D and costing £39, capri pants in sizes XS-XL, also £39, and a fan back or racer back top, both £32.50 in sizes XS-XL. The collection is available from 1 March on the Amoena website and from the brand’s stockists nationwide.
