Lingerie Fashion Week AW14 played out over three days of runways, presentations and special exhibitions in the Canoe Studios New York from 20-22 February, showcasing fifteen emerging and established designers across a range of styles and trends from luxury boudoir lingerie to contemporary style, femme fatale fetishwear and gothic influences, fuller bust collections, flirty feminine pieces and sustainable fashion lingerie.
Bradelis NY opened the show with a luxury everyday lingerie catwalk show, while Naked Princess followed up with a floaty, feminine boudoir collection and a special Ones to Watch exhibition highlighted the up-and-coming talent of brands such as Lola Haze, Negative Underwear and Iris London.
Things took a more dangerous turn, meanwhile, with FYI by Dani Read’s presentation of new collection The Muse of the Violets, taking a more aggressive, high-fashion view of luxury lingerie.
New brand Layneau Collection debuted its first season range on models who ranged in age up to 60 wearing the brand’s floor length gowns, velvet bed jackets and sheer chiffon chemises. And in a more energetic show, Kix’ies Thigh Highs endeavoured to prove that their thigh highs don’t fall down with a Cirque de Kix’ies event featuring thigh-high clad contortionists, hand balancers and suspended hoop artists from a two-ring circus.
America’s homegrown talent was also celebrated with a special Made in the USA presentation featuring contemporary lingerie and loungewear from NaïS, sustainable brand Clare Bare, and gothic-inspired Sophi Reaptress before Affinitas & Parfait transformed the catwalk into an enchanted forest for and sent their AW14 collections down the runway.
