Swimwear has to be flattering. It’s pretty much top of the list of most women’s requirements. Which is why shaping swimwear has become so popular, especially since, unlike underwear, you usually can’t tell if an item of swimwear is shaping or not.
One brand that does flattering so well is Scandale. The French shapewear brand only relaunched a couple of years ago and took its first steps into swimwear last summer with its stylish Mirage swimsuit. This year, however, sees Scandale expand on that promising start with the Les Aquatiques collection that combines shaping and non-shaping styles in a super flattering collection of classic silhouettes.
There are three main trends in Les Aquatiques for spring/summer 2014, each drawing on the brand’s signature vintage glamour with a modern twist. Making Waves is all about timeless, retro charm; Urban Chic is more cosmopolitan sophistication; and Tropical Paradise sees the brand take a sultry, exotic turn.
Choose from bikinis or shaping suits in each range, which range in colour from monochromatic palettes to bold sunset colours and bright prints. All garments have multiway straps for flexibility, and to complement the swimwear there is also a lovely multiway beach dress that can be worn in three different styles – very handy for taking you right through the day and evening.
Our favourites (as we’re very into this season’s monochrome look) are the Oceane swimsuit and the Eclipse bikini – just so stylish!
The collection is available in sizes 32B-38DD and S-XXL while prices range from £35 up to £90. Buy from retailers such as Asos.com and Amazon.co.uk.
