Designing swimwear has become quite the thing to do if you’re a celebrity. Famous names are lining up to collaborate with high street retailers or launch their own lines, some of which endure and some don’t. From Caprice to Elizabeth Hurley, Daisy Lowe to Geri Halliwell and Jessica Simpson to the Kardashians, the last few years have seen a string of celebrity swimwear collections.
This summer is no exception, with new collections from the likes of Myleene Klass and Coleen Rooney for Littlewoods and Kelly Brook for New Look, plus some newcomers to the designing scene. Here’s a taster of some of what’s on offer with a big name on the label.
Swimwear is just one of the ranges designed by Myleene Klass for Littlewoods. Others include fashion and nightwear. This year sees the star’s second swimwear collection, which has a strong jungle theme. Myleene’s collaborations with the retailer have been highly successful so far, with Littlewoods selling a bikini from her range every 15 minutes.

A new entry for 2014, Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon has created a swimwear line for online retailer Fashion World. The boutique collection includes three styles – a bikini, swimsuit and a swimdress – in a range of colours and prints. The cute prints are inspired by the Fifties and the swimwear is accompanied by a range of kaftans.

Kelly Brook’s hugely successful swimwear line for New Look is now in its fourth year and is selling out as quickly as ever. The star favours a retro look for her swimwear and lingerie lines, and this season there’s a real nautical colour scheme going on. The collection is affordable and accessible, with prices starting at just £10.99.

Coleen Rooney is another celebrity with a long-running fashion association with Littlewoods, and her new swimwear collection is the latest extension of that. It’s a compact range of swimsuits, bikinis and cover ups in exotic prints and plain colours with a focus on wearable shapes – and modelled, of course, by Coleen.

Ex Made in Chelsea star Kimberley Garner debuted her swimwear line Kimberley London last year and has just released a new collection of daring cutout swimsuits and skimpy strappy bikinis, including a Hollywood glamour one-piece. The collection is at the top end of the price range and not for anyone who’s even a little self-conscious!

For former TOWIE star Amy Childs, swimwear is just one part of her venture into the fashion business. Along with a clothing line, the star also has a range of accessories that includes everything from iPhone cases to Vajazzle kits, hair rollers and eyelashes. The swimwear is a small range of bikinis and monokinis focused on showcasing your assets.

And not forgetting David Beckham…
New he has retired as a footballer, Becks has followed his wife into fashion, collaborating with H&M on underwear and now swimwear. The campaign shots of his first swimwear range, which includes swimshorts, boardshorts and these little trunks, have already caused a stir, and the range itself is set to launch this month.
