If the sunny weather or an impending holiday has inspired you to revitalise a flagging fitness regime, here are some of this season’s great sportswear buys to make your workout that little bit more stylish and comfortable.
Top left: This stylish fitted tank is part of Under Armour‘s HeatGear range, which uses thermo-regulating properties to stop you getting uncomfortably hot and sweaty. An ArmourVent mesh back panel delivers breathability while moisture-wicking technology transports sweat away from your skin and an anti-microbial treatment keeps your kit smelling fresh. We love the keyhole back, drop-tail hem and super smooth finish.
Buy: Black or yellow, sizes XS-XL, £30. Under Armour.
Top centre: As we gear up for Wimbledon, Princesse tam.tam has released a tennis-inspired update to its Sporty range. The Chris collection, which includes this cute sleeveless top, a dress, skirt and shorts, is made from 100% easy care cotton and is perfect for looking stylish on the court or out for lunch. Team it with the skirt (bottom right) for the perfect casual, sporty look.
Buy: White or green, sizes 8-14, £34. Princesse tam.tam.
Top right: Be An Athlete is a relatively new sportswear brand that aims to offer luxury-inspired premium performance sportswear for men and women. Its stylish range includes these rather fab leggings, which are made from soft cotton and feature a neon print down the side in a choice of four colours – yellow, orange, green and pink – making them an easy addition to your workout wardrobe.
Buy: Four colours, sizes 6-14, £37. BAA Clothing.
Bottom left: Under Armour’s Speedform running shoes are possibly the most comfortable trainers we’ve ever put on our feet. Super light and flexible, you hardly feel like you are wearing trainers at all as they fit your foot like a second skin and are ultra breathable. They have a host of technical features from an anatomical outsole to a moulded toe and they also look great. Available in either pink/blue or lilac/neon yellow.
Buy: Two colours, sizes 2.5 to 8, £90. Under Armour.
Bottom centre: If the fitted look isn’t for you, how about this great Combi Bat Tee from PureLime? Part of the brand’s ‘Feel Tight, Stay Loose’ range, it has a fitted inner vest for practical comfort while working out and a more forgiving, floaty layer over the top. It’s ideal for aerobic and dance workouts as well as just looking cool.
Buy: sizes S/M or L/XL, £32. Jarrods.co.uk.
Bottom right: Sportswear isn’t just about lycra and leggings. Complete your summer tennis ensemble with this little Chris skirt from Princesse tam.tam. The wide waistband and flaired skirt mean this is a comfortable and flattering design and will make you look like a pro on court.
Buy: sizes 8-14, £31. Princesse tam.tam.
Top left: Berlei‘s new Podium sports bra is a high tech addition to the brand’s range. It is designed to meet the needs of tough workouts, and has been put through its paces by the England women’s hockey team. There is a heart rate sensor built into the bra, which is compatible with heart rate monitors from most leading sports technology brands, and it comes in a choice of plain black or a patriotic blue colourway with a white and red trim. The bra is designed as a racer back crop top for support and comfort in A-D cup sizes. DD to G cup sizes have a normal bra back.
Buy: sizes 32-38 A-G, £39. Boobydoo.co.uk
Top right: For less intense workouts, the Still Gotta Have It sports bra from Under Armour is a simple and comfortable crop top that is perfect for mid-impact activities such as light cardio workouts or spinning classes. Designed to fit like a second skin, it supports your breasts through its compression fit and uses Under Armour’s HeatGear fabric to ensure you stay cool and dry as you exercise. This bra is also perfect for layering and comes in a choice of colour combinations as well as a print design.
Buy: sizes XS-XL (best suited to A-C cups), £16. Under Amour.

As well as giving your workout kit a colourful fashion boost, the Extreme Control sports bra offers maximum support combined with seamless, towelling microfibre inner cups and a breathable mesh back for ultimate comfort.
